Designing a Multi-Generational Lakeside Retreat

The creation of this four-season lakeside camp involved designing a compound composed of three distinct structures to accommodate a large family and their guests of various ages. The design had to incorporate spaces for diverse sports-oriented activities, such as tennis, basketball, and water skiing. One of the main challenges was to seamlessly integrate the tennis court into the camp environment, making it a cohesive part of the overall landscape rather than an isolated feature. This required thoughtful placement and design to ensure that the court blended naturally with the surrounding structures and outdoor spaces, enhancing the camp’s functionality while maintaining its aesthetic appeal.

The Results

The completed lakeside camp successfully balances the needs of a large, active family with the natural beauty of its surroundings. The three-structure compound provides ample space for various age groups, ensuring comfort and privacy for all guests. The integration of sports facilities, particularly the tennis court, into the immediate camp environment was achieved without disrupting the natural flow of the landscape. The result is a versatile, multi-generational retreat that offers both recreational opportunities and serene lakeside living, all within a cohesive and well-designed space.
